This is sorely needed. And it doesn’t seem hard at all to just read the Title field from the mediainfo!
Crazy this hasn’t been implemented as I can’t imagine it being anything but trivial to read the already existing meta-data.
I was actually going to make a post for this very issue, glad I found this one!
Any news about this feature ?
I was going to report this as a bug but I see now it’s a missing feature.
+1 from me as well, and I already increased the like count on the OP
This is really really needed. I have a lot of dubbed+subbed anime, and it becomes a nightmare to keep track of which subtitles are for which audio – not to mention the nightmare of commentary tracks. Given that the language metadata is already being read from the file, I can’t imagine it’d be much harder to also read the title and display it the same way. I’m begging you, please prioritize this!
Yes. It would be nice to know what tracks are the “laugh track”.
I too would love to see this. Star Wars Despecialized is a great example of the need here but there are many others including commentary tracks.
Can someone update us on the priority of this request? Is there a git issue for this we can track?
+1 from me too. It’s really necessary imo.
Wow, a popular feature request from 2.5 years ago that hasn’t gone anywhere. Yes, VLC Player supports this and others have mentioned that so does Kodi. I figured my use case (workout videos with normal and loud music tracks) would be small, but this is definitely a much needed feature for movies with multiple tracks as well. My case it’s easy enough to know that the default track 1 is the normal audio and 2 is the loud, but with very difficult with multiple movies with 2+ tracks.
Would love to simply be able to edit the title of the Audio track. I see it in the XML, adding some way to edit that in the interface can’t be that hard?? Thx.

How is this still not a feature since 2014? Guess Ill have to look elsewhere.

This would really be helpful. Most of my Movies include commentary tracks.
Push, because this feature is still desperately needed!
Would be a very needed feature. 219 Likes on the OP! and not one comment from Plex
this is absolutely necessary!
+1 !
This would be great for Anime where there is often multiple sets of subtitles in pairs:
- Language
- Language - Songs & Signs
When both just show as “Language” it is irritating to change them.
I would pay my lifetime pass 4 times over for this feature. It’s such a simple addition that adds tons of convenience and support to a reasonable part of the user base.
I cannot currently watch content with foreign audio parts subtitled automatically, and when having to choose those subtitles I can’t determine between audio descriptive, full text, or foreign audio only.

Greatly needed feature

Really useful for french track movies. I had a lot with french version from France and from Quebec and it’s impossible to know which is which in the interface
