Shuffle is gone on Music

Just updated and the shuffle is gone on Music.

John

Still there for me. Maybe a little more info would be helpful.

Updated what exactly? PMS or one of the clients?

Updated the server to version 1.7.1.3856

Ok. That doesn’t look right. Let me check. Are you using the local Web app or from plex.tv?

Working fine here. Something is odd with your screenshot. There is too much space underneath the images. And the scroll bar doesn’t look right. Try restarting PMS. If you had the WebApp open during the update, maybe something didn’t load properly.

Rebooted the server and still the same.

I opened on two different computers and two different browsers and its the same on all.

re- downloaded and did repair, rebooted, same thing.

John

Very odd indeed. Can you open the developer console and check if there are any errors when reloading that page?

I just heard from the devs that they are aware of this issue. It occurs randomly which is why I don’t see the issue. A fix should happen soon.

Chiming in that I’ve got the music issue too. No shuffle and wacky layout.

Alright, glad I found this thread. Experiencing the same issue.

Well, any update on this issue yet?

Yes, it was fixed with an update to Plex Web yesterday. Plex Web 3.7.0.

ok, so that update is not showing up on my plex server. can you please explain what we all need to do to fix, thank you.

You are looking at Settings - Server - General

You need to look at Settings - Web - General

And of course before you do that, load the web app from https://app.plex.tv/web
and not from your local server IP.

ya, I know all this my web is 3.6… so why is it not prompting me to update the server? How do I get this update?

Plex web is not updated independently from Plex server.
You must wait for a new plex server version which will have the updated web app bundled.
In the meantime, use the ‘hosted’ web app from https://app.plex.tv/web

bummer, I like to do all my stuff in house when I can.

So for me its still not fixed unless I stream out and back in, stupid.

but it will work.

Please keep this in mind:
don’t confuse ‘loading of the web app into the browser’
with ‘routing all commands and all media traffic over plex.tv’
because that is not how it works.
Once the web app has been loaded into the web browser, all communication of this app with your Plex server will work exactly the same. They will travel the same connections.

It doesn’t make the slightest difference from where the web app is loaded -
except of course that your client device where the web browser is running on needs access to plex.tv.

Using “https://app.plex.tv/web/app#” locally does not force the connections to go outside of your network. This just loads PlexWeb from our site instead of the local copy. Once loaded, PlexWeb will communicate directly with your server the same way the local version does. There is no difference once the app is loaded into memory.

The inverse is true. If you connect to your server directly by entering your public IP:port, the local version of PlexWeb from your server gets loaded, but you are still on a remote connection, it doesn’t make you local to your server.
