Another vote for this uber simple update.

I was surprised to find that Plex doesn’t have an ad hoc shuffle option.
To be clear, I’d like to be able to add a few random albums and songs to a queue then shuffle that list. I do not want to create a new playlist everytime I want a shuffled queue of music.

This is so typical Plex
 you guys were never good at support, why do you even have a forum? You never replied with anything useful to any of my threads either. It’s very discouraging to even submit bug reports / feature requests, because it feels you lazy turds don’t even read them.

PS: Also as a software developer, I agree with halsafar; it is ridiculous that this feature is missing in the first place, as so many others. Have you actually ever used a (music) player before “developing” this garbage?

But why do I even post this? It won’t get read by the “right” people anyway.

After my thread closed due to “duplicate”, I’d like to share my 2c here instead.

For me, this is essentially the biggest gripe with Plexamp (and Plex) and has been bothering me to this day. There’s no “good and practical” workaround for it either, unfortunately.

However, I’m extremely happy about the newly added “Sonically Similar” feature as it to some extent alleviates this pain point — even though it doesn’t solve the issue at hand.

I’m personally surprised how few votes this feature suggestion has despite being from 2017, but maybe that’s because the main user base does not use Plex for music?

Despite what might be seen as complaints from me, I still think almost everything else about Plexamp is superior to other music players and I like where it is heading!

I also NEED this basic function.
I don’t understand why it’s not already there.
Play Queue “Shuffle Queue”.
It’s basic in any music player.
Pleeeease add this!

The current work around is

  1. Add your songs to the play queue
  2. In the Play Queue go to the upper right and hover over the + sign with the lines
  3. Add the songs to a playlist (I called mine “Temp”)
  4. Open the new playlist with all of the songs and Shuffle it

Why the arbitrary gatekeeping on my experience using audio players?
