Slow media Playback on PC - Movies Stored on NAS

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2457
Player Version#: Version 4.22.2
So here’s something that has me scratching my head:

I have a PC connected to my TV that I use for media, like most of you. My Movies are stored on a Synology NAS, and my TV shows locally on the PC.

When I play TV shows (stored on my PC) via plex everything is smooth, with no issues what so ever.
However, when I try to play Movies from the NAS on my PC, it can take up to 3min to start, and even then gets choppy at times, sometimes without sound.

Stranger still, when I play the same movies, in original quality, on other devices, like Plex on my phone, or the Plex App on my TV, I have no issues at all.

My PC and NAS are connected to the same router, and I have port forwarding set up on the router.

I’ve added my Logs, and hopefully someone out there can see something I don’t.

Thanks a ton!

Looking at your PMS logs I do see pauses. I have no idea why.

As a test, can you take a tv show episode that you know works and rename it as a movie and add it to your library, then see if that is also slow. If it is, then try creating a new movie library with that one file and see if that is also slow.

Thanks for helping me out. I think the issue was with the NAS. I restarted it and everything went back to normal. Not sure if there is a setting in the NAS that caused this, because it was responding fine in it’s own OS, but really laggy in windows.
