Ok, just been looking into why im having issues with poor performance and glitchy stuttering sound on N64 and 32x roms. When I load Goldeneye rom from RetroArch on my server i’m seeing 30-50% GPU useage in GPU-Z. When i load Goldeneye in Plex Arcade GPU-Z only shows 1-2% useage on the server. Should i not expect to see high GPU useage when playing roms through Plex too?
I’m not convinced that Plex Arcade is actually using my GTX1050ti and instead using CPU??
Is there anywhere in config /reg that we can specify what hardware to use? I have tried adding the Plex Game Transcoder.exe to graphics app but doesnt seem to make a difference. Would also be nice to be able to select what kind of Renderer it is using IE DX/GL/Vulkan
right now there’s just an OpenGL pipeline (which is not always used by a core, we’re making some improvements around this); we’re also making it more versatile so it supports OpenGL 2 (which some cores want). over time we might add other pipelines too.
Yes it might be nice to be able to adjust the pipelines based on which core is being loaded. My testing is showing that for me at least the Vulkan one seems to be a bit more responsive with my GTX1050ti.
Is there a way we can specify CPU/GPU transcoding and tell what its using?
i’m not 100% sure we can support vulkan as i’m not sure Parsec supports it (direct X and open GL on windows).
not at the moment; the cores usually have a preference around it, and we’re just adding some hooks on the host side so that the default work properly (but need to add OpenGL 2.0 pipeline first).
ok so we may see a little bit more control after the OpenGL2 has been added? Are there plans to support DX12 alongside OpenGL2?
On a side note, what is being used for audio transcoding? is that DirectX or something else? My main issues now are stuttering audio and wasnt sure if this could be caused by transcoding issues as I’m on a Dell R720 so dont have any built in sound card. Ive got a soundblaster thats been delivered and will be fitting that into the server soon
