Slow speed to synology with cat 6

Wonder if anyone can advise.
When copying files to my synology server I get around 10mb service also a similar speed when downloading from it (internally using CAT 6 cable) when I plug the CAT 6 cable into my laptop, and do an online speed test I get 900mb+ down and up.
I do have an ethernet switch attached and the cat 6 cable(30metre) comes out of that. Is there anything I can do to to increase the speed to match the speed I can get in the laptop?

Synology model?

Check the Synology network connection speed.

In DSM 7: Control Panel → Info Center → Network.
DSM 6 should be similar.

What is displayed for the Network Status?

This is strange, as it was transferring much much quicker before, but now it says 100mbs

This is the cable I have…

Power off / power on the NAS (don’t just restart).

Try a different switch port

If you can configure the switch, try to hard set it to 1000 Mbps (instead of auto negotiate).

Try a different cable, if possible, even if you have to temporarily move the NAS closer to the switch (you mentioned the cable is 30m in length).

If none of that works, open a case with Synology.
