Hello 
I’m looking for an update on the roadmap for Plex’s “smart downloads” functionality. Specifically the ability to download the next X unwatched episodes of a show and automatically delete an episode once it has been watched. The new UI from an interface standpoint has been good enough, but the smart downloads being missing for so long is making me consider trying to find a way to downgrade to the old UI, which at this point has not been updated in ~6 months? Admittedly most of the time I don’t miss it, but when I go on trips it is simply a must have as the new UI’s downloads abilities leave a lot to be desired.
I skimmed through a lot of the open topics and found a few references to this “coming soon” posted back in June but nothing recent about it. I understand this is likely not a high priority and takes time to develop. I’m a software engineer myself - I know how optimistic estimates sound after their deadlines pass so I’m not asking for a release date to be nailed down. It would be nice though to get an idea of a roadmap. Even just “this is number 7 on our list” would be more of an estimate than I’ve found so far. Hell it’d be nice to just hear that it’s still on the list at all.
I want to be clear that I’m not trying to hate on the Plex team - I’ve been a Plex user for most of a decade and a Plex Pass subscriber for almost as long. Plex has a lot of great features and I have no strong plans to switch to anything else. I’ve talked to several people who see the downloads issues as bigger than I do though and I’d really like to be able to defend Plex to them - help me out?
