SMB, NFS or AFP for a MacMini Plex Server and NAS storage setup?

Hello Plexers.

Im wondering what kind of network protocol that is best for the following setup:

Plex Media Server: MacMini
Plex Media Storage: Synology NAS
Playback Media: Apple TV 4K

I have wired the Mini and Nas together in a gigabit network.

So what kind of network protocol do you use on the following setup?
