So you want your users to stop "complaining" about what's broken?

It should be no secret that there are many who dislike the new interface on varying devices and that there are numerous stability and functional issues that have come from the most recent client and server releases. These were reported during the Beta/Preview cycle of the client as well but ignored. Actually, they were WORSE THAN IGNORED, people were told to “stop complaining”.

Basically there has been ZERO improvement since the first Beta release weeks ago.

I’ve seen many comments from PLEX that have shocked me but some have asked for help in working through the issues.

OK PLEX, it’s a two way street. Maybe it’s time to end your well known pattern of secrecy and share some of your plans.

One of your employee said they are collating response into and issues sheet. How about sharing that so people can see if their problems/desires are at least “on the list”?

Beyond detesting the new interface on the ROKU, I know I’ve reported numerous stability issues with both the client and the PMS. UX is important but your LiveTV/DVR doesn’t even function under the most basic of expectations. You honestly should be offering refunds…

  • No grid guide
  • No recording control
  • Playback of LiveTV just stops, usually can just restart but often requires PMS restart
  • Can’t tune to a channel more than 50% of the time, requires PMS restart
  • FF/REW/SKIP +/- is random. Most times it moves the progress bar but has no effect on playback. Other times the progress bar won’t even display as well as the on screen controls are grayed out, unknown how to “fix”/work around
  • Can’t playback recorded shows about 25% of the time, requires PMS restart.

You want free testers and you want people to not be angry? Try showing some concern and sharing some plans. What have YOU done to EARN the respect and efforts of people, many of whom have PAID for some features that have NEVER worked?

Time for YOU to belly up to the bar PLEX… Many of us are at a crossroads. My wife is irate because she can’t watch TV at night (tunerless TV in the bedroom). I only have so many cycle to invest here and it’s either got to be on a new solution or salvaging this investment. Decision time is here. How to YOU plan to influence it. You’ve already got my money. but my time is more valuable.

WHEN will we see a release to begin to address these issues?
WHEN will we see a PLAN?
WHEN will you share your list of issues?

Wow, I think you just expressed what the majority of us (And I do mean the majority Plex admins.) want to happen! Please just let us know if and how your going to fix this mess…I am currently building on an Emby server as we speak while I am awaiting to hear something…ANYTHING from the powers that be so I can make a decision one way or the other…
