[SOLVED] Only admin can view timeline photos on Android, other users can´t.

Hello…

Seems this issue only persists on Android, since I searched alot and didn´t found any issue related on iOS system. So That’s why this is an issue and not a feature to put on.

The thing is: I created more 2x users on my Plex to share my Library. Those users I created doesn’t have the option to switch to “timeline view” in their photo library, on Android system.

Using the Admin user, there´s no such problem, working flawlessy.

This issue persists for a very long time. Is there any roadmap, intention, or way to fix this issue?

This problem also exists on IOS. But unfortunately it seems Plex has given up on the new photo features. Seems they reached the plex pass subscriptions they hoped for by announcing the features, so now develpment is focused elsewhere.
This issue is the same with the DVR feature.

What a shame… I don’t wanted to believe on it…This is an issue well know for several months already.

I am still hoping for a plex employee to answer and tell that this is a know issue for Android also and that they are going to fix it.

Plex photos is fantastic and deserves the care!

I have the same issue indeed on iOS, could not believe it! Only the PMS admin can see photos albums in Timeline view, other users see them in the normal photos view.

Please Plex, make it available for everyone who has access to a server ! :smile:

Plex Staff doesn’t respond anyone.

This is also the case on IOS. Unfortunately it seems like the focus is new features rather than fleshing out existing ones. Gotta keep those subscriber counts up.

Damn you Plex Staff… Give us a fix for this… Can’t be real that it will need another 1 year to look into it.

They fixed it in one of those two updates this week. Working flawlessly now.

Eerrhhmmn no they did not. You must have been logged in with your manager account. It does still not work for home users.

Well I got Admin + 2x users here and both users working nice now, local network or mobile data. All Android users.

This was a fix based on rights of home users to have the feature ( Timeline is Plex Pass only right now ) It should be fixed for anyone in your Plex Home. It is not specific to a server or player app version

Are you on iOS or Android? they might have to close app and reopen or go to user picker and select themselves again so the app refreshes the share settings for them

Here’s my setup:
Plex 1.10.x server signed in with my plex pass account. My wife and kids are plex users and added to my plex home. Not matter what I do they cannot see the timeline view (restartet the latest IOS app multiple times, signed ind and out and so forth), it’s just not there.
Actually the liveTV feature that should be available to home users is also missing for them.
Everything works as expected for my account.

So I’m guessing my misunderstanding is that they too, have to purchase a plex pass on their account for this to work. But we are not bying another 3 subscriptions just for that - way way way too expensive.
