Already done! I threw it in a temporary folder but I’m going to delete it. I appreciate the help!

any time. Next time? Do what my sisters do — slap me upside the head

LOL

I’m glad OP’s issue is resolved.

I wanted to throw out a “hogwash” about ZFS and compression-related corruption. Or rather, woah, can you share that story?

My experience with ZFS, both big commercial filers and toys at home, has been delightful. Admittedly 90% of that has been Solaris and FreeBSD rather than Linux. I’ve never been more comfortable when migrating data or replacing failed disks. I’ve literally never blamed ZFS for data corruption, and it has saved my bacon a few times. I’ve seen NTFS and HFS+ and btrfs and ext3 all explode because of hardware failures or power outages.

ZFS compression is done when blocks are written, and ZFS itself never comes back to re-compress a block. Even, and maybe especially, my slowest systems benefit from compression - the amount of CPU consumed is small, the I/O benefits are significant.

But really I’d love to hear the story. Or if it’s reproducible, I would try to run it up the ZFS flagpole.
