Some kind of PMS scanner is obsessed with one of my Sonoff smart switches

Server Version#: Version 1.14.1.5488 (latest on the public channel)
Player Version#: N/A

My PMS.Log, every 30 seconds, logs thusly:

Jan 20, 2019 12:54:53.710 [0x7f6478fff700] ERROR - Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 7
Jan 20, 2019 12:54:53.710 [0x7f6478fff700] WARN - HTTP error requesting GET http://10.64.16.178:80/description.xml (0, No error) (Failed connect to 10.64.16.178:80; Connection refused)
Jan 20, 2019 12:54:53.711 [0x7f6478fff700] ERROR - SSDP: Error parsing device schema for http://10.64.16.178:80/description.xml

This IP as a Sonoff smartswitch. There is nothing listening on port 80 as you, and, surely PMS too, can easily see.

What’s with this obsession that is cluttering up my log file, why does PMS persist in polling this device?

Thanks,

From another post

Plex server is looking for SSDP compatible devices on the network (either routers/gateways or Plex clients). It does so by requesting this description.xml file from each device it sees. If the device doesn’t understand the request or denies to answer (most likely because it isn’t a Plex client or a router) it’ll produce one such line in the log. There are no further consequences from this. You can ignore those messages.

PMS sends out a global SSDP query to the LAN for IGDs.
They responded.

Since they did, PMS is going to query it.

My AVR and Google Home Mini are not Plex clients.
My HPE-1820 and GS110EMX are smart switches.
There are no entries for any of them in the logs because they don’t advertise as a gateway device.

Check the settings in the device (if there are any).
If not, report it to the maker of the device.

I was thinking about this more after my eariler response. Are you using the stock ITead’s firmware or are you using the Sonoff-Tasmota firmware. I ask because looking the github changelog it looks like the Sonoff-Tasmota does respond to the SSDP query for support of MQTT Doscovery. are you using this firmware ?

Yes - my Sonoff switches run Tasmota.

When the switch doesn’t have the file that Plex is looking for why does it keep asking and asking?
