Some station logos are blank when viewing the Favorites list

Server Version#: PMS for Linux 1.28.0.5999
Player Version#: Plex for Linux Version 1.49.1.3146-73559c78, Plex Web Version 4.87.2, Plex Roku 7.0 build 13, Android 9.6.0.34226 (026a4e74)
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomeRun Flex 4k
Guide/Lineup name: Los Angeles OTA
Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: Most channels that are moved to Favorites

My channel guide populates correctly. As you can see from the first screenshot, the correct channels are identified, and each contains the correct station logos. No problem:

I then mark certain channels as Favorites with the little heart icon.

When I change the guide view to only display Favorites, very few of those station logos appear at all. Most of them are just completely blank:

This behavior is consistent across clients. Plex Web, the Linux Client, Roku, and Android on my phone all fail to show the complete list of station logos when viewing the Favorites list.

We know that Plex has the logos. They’re there if you click back over to the full station list.

For whatever reason, Favorites will only display some of them.

I was able to find a workaround for this bug just now.

Any channels that you have marked as favorites? Un-favorite them, and then re-favorite them. That will put them back on the Favorites list (at the bottom) with their icon restored.

The downside is that this will wreak havoc with your Favorites’ channel ordering, particularly if you have “real” channels mixed in with Plex’s own streaming stations. You’ll need to drag individual channels back into the proper order. Definitely use the web for this one - a remote control will only cause misery.

Same here…the Favorites tab is slowly losing the logos…while the server name tab is fine. I’m on the same version 1.28.0.5999.

Just upgraded to 1.28.1.6092, but this issue still exists. I really don’t want to have to redo my whole favorites list just to fix this.

This continues to happen. I noticed two of my favorites have lost their channel logos again!

I think this may be happening when the channel itself changes or updates its logo - the Favorites page doesn’t get the message and just shows nothing in its place.

For what it’s worth, I’m having this happen with all my channels. The list in the DVR settings all have their logos, but the list in the EPG are spotty. I’m still trying to determine if it’s related to some way I have them set up or if it’s cache or what…

The broken Favourite Logos are related to PlexWeb.
Plex on AndroidApp an iOSApp is working fine.

But also the sorting/filter in Browsing is broken in PlexWeb - the setting/filter is not saved like on movies etc.

@sa2000 can you help?

i’ve had this issue also on Plex for Windows, have to remove the favourite and add it back for the logo to reappear

Yes, but at any change of gracenote on a channel, the logo will disappear again…

Yes it does seem like a bug, I was just adding to the voice

I have tested on web app, PC app and Android app. Favorites logos and channel numbers are all blank. Running Version 1.29.0.6244 x64. I have not done the dance of the favorites because I shouldn’t have to. While appreciate the complexity of the s/w across multiple platforms, I do expect this to be addressed in an upcoming release very soon.

Try opening your plex server by its local IP and all the icons are there. If I visit it any other way with Plex for Windows or Plex Web, there are no icons.

This does not affect Plex for Android as far as my experience goes.

Have you found anything about it? I’m having the same problem…

No. Not wish they’d fix this bug.

This is still occurring regularly on the favorites tab. The channel icons just go away. The only way to fix is to unfavorite the channel and then mark it again…it will stay for a short while, but more will go away eventually…

This is still broken. I’m just posting to keep this post alive before it auto-locks.

I think the only way to get tech support is to do this until someone from Plex notices the thread and comments on it.

It’s been seven months since this was first reported and there’s been no acknowledgement or action taken.

Here’s another - probably related - issue.

A station in my local market just changed its branding. It’s got a new name and a new station logo.

The new logo shows up correctly in the big list of channels.

The Favorites tab still shows the old logo.

If I remove and re-add it to my list of Favorites, the correct new logo shows up.

The same here too. Only for me it basically affects a few channels, whether favorites or NAS EPG.
