Some Way To Resume Playlists, Please?

Now I know this one comes up a lot and the standard response seems to be “providing some way to resume playlists would be an aberration unto Plex, so we’re not even going to try”

I know selecting the last video in the playlist from the “front page” would continue to play that episode, but after that episode it reverts from playing the playlist to just playing episodes in order, with the customary 3 year countdown between episodes. However, it definitely used to be the case that if I went into the playlist, selected that episode from the list of episodes shown for the playlist (rather than pressing “Play” for the entire playlist, the playlist would continue.

However, at some point it stopped working. Would it be so hard to have it so that selecting an episode in a playlist starts the playlist going (in regular playlist fashion, without delays) from that episode? I appreciate that “start a playlist from where I left off” isn’t possible because you don’t store the current position in the playlist anywhere, but would it be so hard to allow me to start a playlist from somewhere other than the very beginning?

I use my Plex server to listen audio books, and the ability to resume where I left off is great but… As stated above, when resuming my audio book I can only go as far as the end of the next track before it stops or jumps off to something else.
I would really appreciate if the resume respected the playlist the file was in and resumed the whole thing instead of just the individual file.

This could be improved even further with my play position being maintained in my account across devices. So when I switched from the Web app on my laptop to the Android app on my phone I could resume exactly where I left off.

I am facing the same issue, looking forward to see any improment from plex
