I actually went that route at one point, but the whole thing still performs better overall natively on BSD rather than in the VM.

Just to update this thread, we’re seeing a lot of users migrate from CORE → SCALE for better Plex support. The issues the original poster mentioned about high resource usage in K8’s has been addressed in updates earlier this year. I’ve personally moved over and found it to be a much better experience overall, including with Intel GPU HW Transcode support.
Ended up setting up a Linux box just for running a Plex instance with Sonic analysis
