Decided to give it a try thinking it was something more than just a chatGPT prompt.
Even that wouldn’t be so bad if that prompt actually returned results that were in my server.
Turns out, this is only useful if you use it with Tidal, which isn’t a thing here anymore.
So, I guess what I’m looking for are some ideas for what to use the remaining $9.99 that I have on my openAI account since I won’t be spending it on this.
If you have a library which is big enough and ask the right questions it could be useful, if there would’t be the bug that Sonic Sage does not find the song in the library, if the title of the song is the same like the title of the album. The Problem is known at least since March, but because it’s not fixed, Sonic Sage is more useless than it could be.
I’m wondering what happened to the “Only use server matches” option for OpenAI. I see it mentioned in older threads but, if it ever existed, it isn’t there now.
I’m still waiting for a Tidal replacement. It’s kind of baffling that Plex hasn’t announced a partnership with Qobuz or Deezer or whomever else. I joined Plex after Tidal integration was a thing, so that’s how I learned to use it. Even with a library of 80,000 tracks, there are often songs I want to hear via either Sonic Sage or an imported playlist which I don’t have in my library. Discovering music which I don’t yet own is a high priority for me, and now I can’t really do that via Plexamp.
I’d love to stick with this platform because I love being in control of my own music, but I find myself gravitating back to Apple Music more and more (since it’s included with my family Apple One subscription anyway). I totally hate the Apple Music interface, but at least it has millions and millions of songs that I can discover.
Would love to see an announcement of a new streaming partner from Plex, especially with the Plex Pass going from $5 to $7 per month. It’s not a huge amount, but Plexamp is the only thing I use Plex for. I don’t use it for any of its video features.
What is the point of Sonic Sage when we no longer have a streaming catalog to pull tracks from? Even with a huge library, there’s almost always going to be at least a few tracks that are “Not Found”.
