I see my Sonos is not using a local IP connect to my Plex server even though they are both on the same network. Is it possible to get that to happen ?.
I think this is potentially linked to some of the Flac files we have not playing on sonos whilst all other devices will play everything back with no issues.
Sonos app uses a server in Virginia for connections to Plex if I recall correct. Quite certain this is expected functionality based on several other threads as well as the Plex for Sonos release announcements thread.
While the Sonos service will originate from the cloud, playback will come from the speaker itself. Either directly via the LAN if your PMS is able to discover your Sonos on the LAN, via your public IP address and using your port forwarding, or the last option is via Relay, which would also come from the cloud.
Great thanks, how do I check if PMS is seeing the Sonos units ?. It’s weird that it will skip some tracks on an album and play a couple then skip the rest with the same error.
