Sony TV

Hi....  I just bought a Sony 65" W850 TV set and it looks like the only way I can get Plex is through DLNA, rather than an app.

I also have an AppleTV, but every movie and TV show I have has its audio encoded with AAC 5.1 and AppleTV will convert that to Stereo before it outputs it....  Not an option to re-encode everything with Stereo/AC3 for AppleTV.

The issue I have is security.  I have a 11 year-old, an 8 year-old and a 4 year-old.  I certainly do not want to find out they've watched "Boogie Nights" or "Dexter."

On DLNA, is there ANY way to put a password or something so my kids cannot watch stuff I don't want them to?   Or --- is there another player that I can buy (like an AppleTV) that supports security and the native Plex App?

PS:  I am using Plex Media Server on a Synololgy NAS

Excuse me? Who are you to judge me? First off where do you get off talking about "porn?"

I, obviously, made a mistake in where I posted my question but that doesn't invite you to criticize me on something you know absolutely nothing about or impose your sense of morals on me or anyone else.

A less-than "mightyer than though" response --- something like "hi. Welcome to the forum. This area is for developers. Please post your question here:". Instead you chose to be a smart Alec.

How about we introduce ourselves again.... This time without the sanctemoneous attitude? What do you think? Huh?

I wasn't, but re-reading, I can see it could have been taken that way, and sorry for that.

I did however say the word etc, and I was ref. lot's and lot's of other threads, talking about restricting not DNLA, but native Plex apps, due to among others both Porn and violent contents

You however wanted this for DNLA, and didn't made an RFE for it, but had a Q about it, so I pointed you towards the DNLA section

By the way, Mr. Judgey… “Bogey Nights” is not “porn.” It was nominated for several Academy Awards and had an all-star cast of NON porn stars including William H Macy, Jullianne Moore, Burt Reynolds and Mark Wallburg.

Save the preaching or get your facts straight please

I said I was sorry, and I also mentioned, that this is a dev fora, so please stop now and move along....

For us to chat here is not how it should be
