Not exactely sure if my request belongs here, but I would like to see an option to sort by actor name or director name instead of just title or year please. Is it possible to do so already? I cant find this

This would be awesome, especially for some of us cinephiles. The ability to sort movies by director = Instant filmographies! Please implement this, Plex!
“Instant filmographies” is apparently not doable yet, but you can see a list of directors:
I’m a bit confused about this request (and its siblings, asking to sort e.g. by Genre).
Sorting the library by that parameter will give you the full library ordered by who directed the movies – at least that’s what the OP’s asking for. I can understand the question to Filter by a certain director to see all their movies in that library… I understand the linked feature suggestion to “group” the library by directors in that context but asking for something comparable to the collections tab, showing groupings of movies by director etc.
TL;DR: are you really looking for an option to Sort or are you looking for an option to filter/group?
