As brenthardy62 pointed out, you can currently do this for smart collections (built from the new advanced filter).

Beyond that this topic is already covered in an existing suggestion.
Please vote/comment in that existing thread instead of posting a duplicate that’ll result in votes getting distracted/dispersed.

Sort collections by descending release date

We already can soft the collection by title or by release date. When sorted by release date, the oldest item is first and the newest is last. Entering a large collection on TV apps needs you to scroll through all old movies to reach the newly added ones. Please add a setting in the collection preference window to choose ascenting or descending release date order. Thx a lot. PS: Maybe there is already a request like this. I searched a while but did not find this.
