I know there’s a view that shows recently aired shows but unfortunately when someone like Netflix drops an entire season at one time it gets pretty unusable. I’m trying to go into my entire library of shows, filter then by “Unwatched” and then sort them by EPISODE release date. There is a release date sort but it sorts based on the initial episode of the show and not the most recent episode. So, a new episode of something like SVU sorts with a date twenty years ago instead of last week.
Can I do what I’m trying to do?
It sounds like you are viewing by show rather than by episode. All the player apps should be able to sort like that but not sure which you are using. image below is the Web app.

I am viewing by show. As I said, when a streaming service drops an entire season at one time I don’t want to see my list filled up with that show.
I want to see a list of shows with unwatched episodes and I want those shows listed by air date of the newest episode.
I hate to point to the competition but Kodi does this just fine.
Please define “list”. I really have no idea what you mean by that. If a bunch of episodes of a show have the same air date such as Netflix shows what are you expecting to see?
Recently added on the home screen already combines episodes of a single season into one group if they are added within 20hours of each other.
that is what on deck is. but i am probably misunderstanding. if not i don’t think what you are asking is possible.
