Sort Watchlist by Date Opened

I understand that the new Watchlist feature does not (and probably cannot) pull info back from streaming services to indicate whether an item has been watched.

However, it would be nice if, when I launch a streaming app from Plex to watch something on my Watchlist (using one of the “Watch from these locations” buttons), that item would bump to the top of my Plex Watchlist. This new sort mode could be called “Date Opened”, “Date Watched”, “Date Launched” or something to that effect.

I add new things to my Watchlist all the time and it’s annoying that the things I’m actively watching get buried under shows I haven’t started yet.

Hmm, could run into issues with detecting if you really watched it. Just because you clicked on the link for the show in Plex doesn’t mean you actually did watch it. I’d be worried about changes to the order shows appear in this based on just clicking around.

BUT!! This doesn’t mean I am against this. If we get more custom ways of sorting the watchlist, could we then get the watchlist sort choice to be SAVED? I think the “date added to watchlist” option as a default every time I open the page is not what I want. I am more likely going to be using this as a “wishlist” of upcoming movies, and I want it to always sort by date RELEASED instead, and the watchlist page does not remember that.

I understand that if I clicked on something and didn’t watch it, then it would erroneously sort to the top of the list. But given the limitations that we’re working with here, I think that it’s still a good solution.

Just to clarify, I don’t think it should sort to the top of the list when I click on it in Plex, only once I actually launch another app (presumably to watch it). I suppose there might be other reasons I would open the show in its native app, but usually the only reason I’d do that is to watch it.
