I see a lot of compliments around the internet about Plex’s Watchlist feature. I myself have loaded my Watchlist up with shows I’m interested in. However, there is no way to utilize the power of this feature to find out which of my multi-season shows are releasing new episodes. “Sort by Added At” is when I added the item to my list. “Sort by Release Date” only reflects when the series started. Etc.
If you drill down into any particular show, Plex clearly knows when a new episode is coming out, e.g. “Releasing on Sept. 1, 2024”.
This feature really needs to make use of that information by providing a sort option of “Sort by Episode Release Date”. This would allow shows with new episodes to “percolate” up to the top of the Watchlist (in that sorted view).
This way folks like me won’t miss out on knowing that a new season of Only Murders started a week ago (I had no idea…), making the Watchlist and even more “go to” feature for Plex IMHO.
