Sorting by Date Instead of Episode Number

I see those threads. I’m trying to put a stake in the ground (in my mind) and start connecting all the points.

The missing stuff needs addressed. I won’t deny that for a sec.

Missing posters / metadata for stuff that is matched … that’s a clear priority. I need to find where the regression occurred if I can. If not, start asking again.

As for the DVD/airdate regression, I will start with the PMS release notices (which anyone can do) and see what’s even remotely related. Whatever it takes, I’ll dig & ask best I can with the time I have.

Fwiw: The engineer in me doesn’t like workarounds. In my career, they were unacceptable because of the risks involved. With that ingrained, I consider workarounds to be ‘this is what to do while we fix it right’.

Yea?

When this issue has been put back in the barn (where it came from, version before this) and we’re standing on the porch, dirty and tired, I’m going to bring up The Plex Dance® ,The Registered, Trademarked, Community Workaround invented YEARS ago by necessity when it was discovered that Plex WILL NOT release it’s grip on a bundle with a mere ‘refresh’ when new and possibly more correct information is offered in order to fix a bad, or no match condition.

But we’ll not concentrate on that right now while the animals are out there in the corn.

I tone down the geek-speak if the sarcasm can also be toned down?

I’m a volunteer. Please remember that?

That wasn’t sarcasm. That was a metaphor - and was intended to be a humorous interlude.

I too am a volunteer. One that has to explain every day the 7 steps in The Plex Dance® when we finally get a user to correctly name and structure the files, but then a Refresh does nothing.

When the dust has settled I’ll create a new thread, mention your name in it, and we’ll take it from there.

We’re all very thankful you showed up. Until then we didn’t have a prayer anyone would ever listen, much less even acknowledge something bad was happening out here.

Thanks

Thank you for explaining. I monitor a lot but am uncertain how to approach certain discussions.
For this reason, I stick mostly to my areas of expertise: Linux and Synology.

I won’t have the all the answers but i’ll do my best.

I do ask we keep things focused in that single thread… Thank you. It helps me and makes it easier for me to bring the others here since we’ve got it contained for them in one place.

Got it, agreed, thanks.

This seems to have been fixed in the latest update.

I am seeing this problem right now even though this post is 2 years old. everything is exactly as described earlier with the Firefly episode order.
