Sorting order and accented letters

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8 (Synology, 64 bit)
Player Version#: 2.48.0.1038-11b21f57 (on macOS X, but I see it with the web browser version as well – it’s not a player issue)

The Plex Server has an issue with the sorting order.
Accented first letters (À É, Ô…) are shown at the end of the alphabet. Instead the accent should simply be ignored and the files should be sorted as if the letters were not accented.
It affects the letters no matter what position they’re in in the title and significantly affect the sort order.

Initial letter:

In the middle of a word:

Steps to reproduce

  1. add movies that have an accented letter at the beginning of the file name

Current behavior

  1. the movies are sorted last (e.g.”À fond”)

Expected behavior

  1. the accent should be ignored and the movie should be sorted as if the name didn’t have an accent on the first letter. ((e.g. “À fond” should be sorted as "A fond”)

I didn’t include the logs here because I wasn’t sure it’d be of any help. I’ll post them if need be of course though.

Hi,

This is obviously a bug (not a feature request or difference in opinion  ).
Is the forum the best way to report bugs in the server app?
I’m worried that the report didn’t get any replied (like “it’s logged” for instance) and that the thread will close on its own for lack of activity…
