Hi, have 10000 comics I want to watch on my TV screen. All pictures are numbered from 1 to e.g. 32. Presently the pictures are shown in the orderr 1,10,11,12,13,141,5,16,17,18,19,2,20,21… How can I tell Plex to show them in the proper order 1,2,3… ??
You’ll need to pad the numbers, so it’s 00001, 00002, 00003, etc.
Thank you so much - it solved my problem. By just adding a (only 1) “0” it already worked! Now I can watch all my comics in the proper order.
Back again. After renaming all my pictures with 00001,0002 etc. I still geht the same problem! Pictures starting with 1,2,3…10,11,12…20,21,22 are still shown in the order 1,10,11…19,2,20,21…etc. Web.de can do it but why not Plex? Any help is highly appreciated.

I have just looked at all your posts on the subject. This area is already being looked into to introduce natural sorting rather than the strict alphanumeric sort. I do not know have any information as to when this would get incorporated.
Meanwhile, you would need to follow the advice given on renaming - there are lots of tools available for bulk renamer - I tend to use Advanced Renamer for windows.
If you could send me by Private Message the names that work and those that do not, I will add the information to the development project
Thank you for your answer. I do have a program to rename files - but with all of my more than 10 000 files - no way! I went at great length for over 2 years to name all my files according to numbers. I uploaded them - e.g. - to the Web.de cloud - and all appear in the ascending order by numbers as expected - but not so in Plex. Would it help if you I send you 5 or 10 (?) pictures with their file names? If YES, please indicate to which email address (or link?).
Again - thank you for telling me that this option for a different sorting is being considered - hopefully in the foreseeable future.

Use forum private messaging interface. Please zip the files before attaching
You must understand this would be new functionality and new feature changing the sort algorithm and I cannot tell you when it would be completed and released
