Source server crashed, moving new server but all library and history gone

Server Version#: latest (20210306)
Player Version#:

Hi,

My original server was setup on my ESXI server which is windows based, but my server was crashed somehow and I’ve pull out the Hard drive and tried to save the C drive.

Now I’ve found my old windows laptop and extracted the source data which should located at “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server” as the Plex official tutorial, also I did backed up the registry file to new server, everything seems fine when I install back and sign-in on new one. The plex could recognize the new server to be old one and settings/users seems recovered, but not for the library and watching history…

Anyone could help me bring my library back?
I’m going to lose my mind…Thanks if you could help.

The tutorial I’ve followed:

Double check the registry to see if the location for your Plex data is saved there. It’s the LocalAppDataPath key. If it’s there, PMS will look there for your old setup. If it doesn’t find it, it creates a new setup so everything will be blank.

You can also add that key yourself and point it to the new location where you restored the data to.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.
I did tried to restore the location but it did not help and my library is still in empty…

I did follow the official document but all my library and setting were gone…

That is the default location. Did you move your data on your old system? If so, this location would have contained configuration info from before you moved the location so it may be empty. If you did move the location, you need to find that location to grab the files from.
