Sometimes I prefer to watch a TV show in a different order from aired order. TheTVDB never seems to make production order available as an option. (Example: The Prisoner, 1967.) Also, I have one show in mind (Space:1999, Season 01) in which only a particular custom order makes sense that is neither aired order nor production order. I would like to be able to designate my own order for playing a TV season. This would apply chiefly or solely to certain TV shows from the 1960s and 1970s that had no recognizable story arc and whose producers shipped out standalone episodes that no one even wrote to be part of a story arc. If it makes better sense to reorder the episodes “my” way, I’d like to be able to do this by a method other than merely keeping a written episode order handy and remembering to select each episode to play next.
There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to customize the episode ordering. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
There’s also a suggestion to support episode orders from TMDb and TheTVDb beyond the standard TMDb order or TheTVDb‘s Aired/DVD/Absolute orders.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
Go ahead. Your first suggestion matches exactly what I had in mind and adds another feature (marking skippable episodes) I didn’t think of.
