Hi, I know the “SSDP: Error parsing device schema” has been posted quite a bit as a lot of us see the error repeatedly from some device on our LAN being recognized by plex.
That said, I’m running into a weird situation, the error I’m getting repeatedly:
SSDP: Error parsing device schema for http://192.168.122.1:34400/device.xml
The IP isnt on my lan, the 192.168.122.X isnt even my subnet (192.168.0.XXX) so I’m having a tough time trying to figure out where this could be coming from.
Anyone come across something similar to this or is there a reason why Plex would show the IP address as something other than what it is?
Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated as it’s bugging the hell out of me. Thanks a lot.
Those are both harmless errors. It’s basically PMS looking for devices on your network and net getting back expected results. In other words, not something PMS can communicate with.
For that odd subnet, do you have anything that might be created a separate subnet that you’re not aware of (repeater, powerline adapters, etc.)? It may not be actively doing anything, but if it’s still there on your network, it would still broadcast it’s IP.
Hey thanks a lot for responding. I do have an extender which is what I first assumed it could be (even with the weird IP). I unplugged it and the errors still repeatedly showed. The port number was how I determined what it was (xteve). I’m guessing because it’s in a container is why the weird IP. As it’s an iptv emulator it makes sense plex is recognizing it. Thanks again for the quick reply.
