SSL Certificate Reset - Difficult Cases

There isn’t a better support channel for Plex. It’s always been here in the forums.

What I can tell you is that I learned more since last night about resolving this fallout from the certificate expiration.

The biggest one I’ve seen for the players:

  1. Rasplex players – Go update from the github update (priority 1)

  2. Applicable to all , even a newly updated Rasplex
    a. Sign it out
    b. Remove it as an authorized device from the server (Settings - Authorized Devices - Devices
    c. Sign it back in.

What that does is wipe out the old cert cache and force it to accept new.

Thanks! I will give that a try

If that television is local LAN, add its IP address to the list (Setting - Server - Network - Show Advanced) which is allowed to play without auth. Make certain there are no leading or trailing spaces in what you type (PMS doesn’t clean up the field before applying)

@ChuckPa Sorry forgot to mention TV is remote.

Probably time to get it a HDMI set top box or device.

Before purchasing, check with the manufacturer of the TV and make certain it doesn’t have any pending updates (a lot of people forget to update their TV firmware)
