This could make movie playback smoother by having the preroll on a SSD or in a cache and then while it plays the movie can get ready by loading the movie from the slower HDD.

I don’t think I’ve seen this. I did search, promise!
Wouldn’t it be great if whilst during a Preroll the Plex client is buffering the main title bring requested? Would make the Preroll have an extra function and would reduce the ‘buffering’ which so greatly annoys people
Please use the search function before creating duplicate requests and distract votes from (more) popular suggestions.
