I don’t mean to derail the thread, but I keep reading that my Roku should have kept working this morning even thought my internet went out unless the Roku was accessing the server “remotely”. How does one check how their client is accessing the server? How do I ensure my Roku is staying local?

I think what you want to check is the setting at the server. There is an ‘Allow remote access’ option that needs to be unchecked. I think you want to disable secure connections as well.
