Hello, this has been an “issue” for some time, but I don’t think it’s a bug, but is somehow intended.
The stop button on my remote stops all types of video playback on the Plex Android TV app except for music. It just goes back when music is playing.
Is this supposed to be happening? I seem to remember that stop used to work in music, but it’s been a long time.

Which Android TV device are you using?
Shield TV. Same thing with my Sony TV with Android TV. Have to go back to what is playing and select the stop button.
Stop on the remote works on everything else in Plex without issue.
There is no stop button on the shield remote. Are you using a third party remote?
Yes, Logitech Harmony. Shield has a stop command and the music section of plex is the only one that doesn’t respond.
I’m using the stock remote with my Sony TV and it does have a stop button. It also doesn’t work in the music section.
Any update on this?
Is the music playing in the background? I believe the stop button doesn’t work in that case.
No. It is when I’m in the app looking at the current item that is playing. Basically, the current playlist. I push stop, it goes back. I have to go back into the now playing section and physically move over to the stop button on the screen to get music to stop playing.

I have to select the on-screen stop button. The one on my remotes does nothing. It just acts as a back button, but only for music.
Ok. Can you provide me the specific model number of your TV and of your remote?
Sony XBR-55X700D with the stock remote.
The other is nVidia Sheild TV with Harmony hub based remote.
So you have this problem with both?
Yes, it isn’t device specific. They all have the same version of Plex.
I have the same issue, I’m using a Logitech Harmony hub with the companion remote.
I have the same issue. Using the Harmony remote, the stop button on Plex when playing music on a Shield TV acts as a back button. The you have to go back into the song and bring up the soft stop button and ok on it. For movies the stop button works so it is a plex inconsistency issue.
The past few updates still haven’t fixed this. Any idea on a timeline or can we provide any additional information?

I have a Logitech Harmony Elite and Nvidia Shield Pro (2019). The stop button on the Logitech remote just goes “back” from the now playing screen to the list selection. I think have to go back to the now playing screen to hit the stop button on the UI to stop music from continuing to play.
Same issue still. Any idea if this is even being looked at?
