As you can see, removing the “A” shows results, but with the “A” there are no results.
You can test this if you have Natalie Portman’s movie: “A Tale of Love and Darkness”
So it’s not just for that one title.
Seems like this also happens in Plex Web.
Why is search so janky?
“cry me a river of stars” shows no results.
“a river of stars” shows results…
So there might be a bug in search where it will say no results. But if you wait like 30-60 seconds more (depending on how much media you have) the results will pop up.
It sucks that the search takes so long, but what’s worse is that it says “no results” even while it’s still searching… so weird.
On Plex Web it works now. But on Android it’s still the same. Anyone got any clue?
Which agent does your PMS movie library use?
For Movies: “Plex Movie” for scanner and agent.
For Series: “Plex TV Series” for scanner, and “Plex Series” for agent.
I see for Series there’s a “Plex Series Scanner” option. Not sure what the difference is. I’m gonna go read about it!
Don’t change it. It will cause all sorts of weirdness and those old agents/scanners will go away sooner or later

Which sources do you have enabled in search settings? Just your PMS? Do you mind sharing the XML for that movie on your PMS? ( you are welcome to message it to me)
