Search is missing many results on different inputs (Windows/Android/AndroidTV)

Integrated search doesn’t work. If I search for some word - even if it is a very specific one or something general… No matter the client - tried on Windows/Android/AndroidTV

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4392
Player Version#: 1.31.1.2262-74fdc6b7 (windows one)

Problems:

  • When I try to search for one string I get only 10 results while there are total 28 all visible in Plex when navigated manually…
  • When I try to search for other, then I get 11 out of 12 available…
  • Another which Windows is giving 70 results, Plex shows only 30…

Troubleshooting:

  • Tried to rescan the media - didn’t help.
  • Tried to change scanner type - didn’t help.
  • Tried to recreate the library from scratch - didn’t help.
  • Tried everything possible in the Plex app - didn’t help.

This seems like a serious bug in the fundamental feature like search… It confused me so many times. Was hoping Plex will fix this eventually but is not happening apparently…

The Android app only gives a max of 10 results per media type. There is not a way to get more results.

Sure, in the title it says also windows app… what about issue there as I described it in the first post?

Other thing giving answer there is no way is kinda vague. I would like to know why please.

Not sure which Windows app you are referring to. There are several. Different clients may have different limits on the number of results.

The intent for search is to help find something you may not quite know the name of. It is not meant to be way to filter out content.

If that is what you are looking for, you’ll need to create a feature request to see if others feel the same need.
