'Studio' field not behaving like other fields

Bug: ‘Studio’ field does not behave like the ‘Country’ field.

Like many films are co-productions from different countries, many are also co-produced by different production studios. For example, ‘Toy Story 4’ is from both Pixar and Walt Disney: Toy Story 4 (2019) - Company credits - IMDb

This is correctly reflected in TMDB Production Information: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/301528-toy-story-4/edit?active_nav_item=production_information

When multiple production studios are present, Plex only grabs the first one (which is ok, it does the same for Country). However, we can manually edit the Country field to add the missing ones. The Studio field does not allow this: it can only contain a single value.

I searched around the web and many people have this problem, there’s even a feature request: Allow For Multiple Studios Separated by Commas
However, it doesn’t make sense for this to be a feature request. It’s a bug since it behaves differently than all the other displayed fields around it (Directed by, Written by, Genres, Country, etc), which allow multiple values.

Can a Plex dev help with this? It’s frustrating having to resort to hacks that have drawbacks, like creating Collections, just to see all Disney movies in our library.

I’ll bring it up to folks. I can’t make any promises

Thanks for bringing the topic up for discussion. :+1:

I guess a solution would be to move the Studio field to the Tags tab.

Yeah it is being discussed. Moving to tags tab is what I suggested in my report as well.
