Many films have more than one studio that they are associated with. With Directors, Writers, and Genres multiples can be listed and each searched, but with studios I end up with a single entry that is “Universal Pictures, DreamWorks, Imagine Entertainment” instead of the desired individual tags “Universal Pictures”, “DreamWorks”, and “Imagine Entertainment”.
I have no idea if the metadata format for movies is similar to music, but in the ID3 spec for music tags, multiple artists, directors, etc., can be listed in the same tag, separated by the “/” symbol. You might try that and see if it works. If not, you’ll probably have to see if there’s some standard for doing this for movies.
