Implemented - Subtitle synchronization

Please include a feature that allows us to time-shift subtitles back and forth (ms/secs), for subtitles which are out of sync, or sometimes become out of sync during playback.

Agreed it is better to sort it out before starting playback, but that is not always possible, and with the new great adhoc subtitle feature, this would be very much appreciated. Plex must be the only player out there that doesn’t support this

+1 this would be great

Sure. This feature was present in PHT. it is a huge step backward to have removed it in plex media player.
Please include this feature in all official players.

its really important feature I would love to see it because not all subtitles we download are synced perfectly and I have to edit them to make them match using external tools

Hopefully this gets included with the implementation of subtitle downloads:

Otherwise it’s going to be fairly useless.

The new subtitle downloads rock, when in sync. Please add a client based way to offset them during play.

Another vote to get this functionality in PMP. At the very least please add back the keyboard shortcut functionality in PMP to manually offset.

Pretty please with sugar on top.

Same here, please include this option… it’s very often a sec too late or too soon…very annoying.

I would also love to see this feature implemented. Other players such as Videostream have it as a basic option

Missing this feature is the only reason I still use the old Samsung TV Plex player from time to time. Please add subtitles offset in the AppleTV Plex Player.

This would save me hours of time spent adjusting sub files with external tools.
I find myself using other (free) media players for this reason, and I’m paying for plex

+1 to add subtitles time shift to Android TV client.

This would be indeed a very welcome option. As for now it often happen that the subs are out of sync.

Please please add this feature!

I’m not sure how complex the backend portion of the subtitle system is, but I can’t imagine it would be that difficult to just add an offset to the timing for each line of subtitles, or add an offset to the current player time when checking if any subtitles need to be displayed.

I would take this a step further. I want Plex to add a ‘Scheduled Task’ like thumbnail generation, that analyzes the audio (Speech to Text) and auth synchronizes the SRT file (or whatever). I have all these movies recorded from TV and since they have commercials (which I skip) no SRT files ever work (some I was able to capture closed captioning). But it seems like you should not have to manually sync the subs anymore!

+1 this is a must have feature for a media consumption player

I just started using Plex and I can’t believe there isn’t an option to do this!!
By the way, this is 5 months old. Is anybody from Plex reading this?

Coming from Xplay on my LG tv, this is the only feature I am missing! Please add!

The web player can playback SRT subtitles but they’re grossly out of sync for some reason with the Plex web player (it’s perfectly in sync when playing using VLC or even streaming through a DLNA player). Would be nice to have a simple drop down box next to the subtitle size with options from +10 to -10 in 0.5 second increments to adjust the subtitle sync (or maybe a slider instead of a drop box from -10 to + 10 in 0.5 second increments). This is for subtitles which aren’t burnt in and are streaming so it should be easier to implement.
