Subtitles not displaying on Android

Have been trying to make subtitles show up but to nk avail, using Android Dand have changed the settings in the app but still unable to get them to show… Surely it’s an easy fix…

Any help is welcomed!!!

Your Media → Using Subtitles → Adding Local Subtitles to Your Media

Plex Android app version (look in app settings)?

Are the subtitles embedded or external?

If external, the file names must match exactly, except for language code, cc/sdh/forced, & extension.

Example:

/Movies
../Avatar (2009)
..../Avatar (2009).mkv
..../Avatar (2009).eng.srt

or

/Movies
../Avatar (2009)
..../Avatar (2009) [a bunch of miscellaneous stuff].mkv
..../Avatar (2009) [a bunch of miscellaneous stuff].eng.srt
