I’ve recently experienced errors across all Plex-enabled devices, causing extreme buffering every 30 seconds within a movie. I’ve tested on 3 separate devices and with 5+ different movies (of all sizes and types), and the issues occur consistently across all. The only interesting nuance is that occasionally - every 3-4 movies - Plex will just play as normal with no buffering. Then if I test the movie again the problem re-appears.

iMac (2015)
Processor 4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 32 GB
Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M395X
With attached external hard drive - G-Technology 6 TB mirrored.
As mentioned I have run this for 3+ years without any issues. I did not adjust my setup/settings at all and just started experiencing issues.
I would love any direction/assistance possible. Love Plex and hope to get it back to normal soon.
