I canāt believe they still donāt support audiobooks!
Hopefully now they have an new revenue stream, they can spend that money on this as itās a top voted feature!

My guess is they are to busy adding future paid features like tidal. Regardless of what they say I feel the days of Plex development being primarily about managing your own library are at an end.
As a paid member knowing myself and a large portion of the community have asked for audio books for years and 0 development has happened towards it means I will move on as soon as someone else does this.

Prologue is really great, though iOS only unfortunately. Plex still needs a dedicated library for āSpoken Wordā content though.

I would love to see this feature developed.
I just created my audiobook library using the audiobook metadata plugin. When I realized it didnāt remember the chapter I was on when the book is split into chapters I was appalled. If they could just add that feature it would go a long way for all of us I think. There are most certainly other features that would further improve the experience, but this simple one would be a great start!
P.S. as a workaround to prevent losing my spot in a book. Iāve started merging all of my books into a single audio file. It works relatively well, except as has been stated, Plex sometimes doesnāt remember exactly where we are in the books. Also if I were to fall asleep listening to the book it would be come even more difficult to find my place since thereās only one giant file to search through.
I merge my books as well and keep the merged book as track 0 and the original split chapters as the normal track numbers. Audio files are small enough Iām not worried about the duplication and if they implement track support in the future I can just nuke the full novel ones.
