Well, as most of you guys may be annoyed, plex would give out “File is unplayable. DoVi (Profile 5) color space is not supported.” when playing DoVi profile 5 on some devices - especially on typical web browsers.
Due to the “evil Dolby”, we cannot solve it legally for a long time. However, since 2022, ffmpeg >5.0 has already supported Dolby transcoding officially and mpv-player-windows has already supported DV tonemapping.
So, it is now 2024, why can’t I play DoVi profile 5 on my laptop browser? Is there any technical/legal problems exist? I will be very appreciate if we can support this feature. Thanks
