I am not a gamer and bought my PS3 several years ago as a central component of my media center. I soft-modded it with custom firmware so I could watch my media via the Showtime homebrew application, first via PS3 Media Server and later via Plex Media Server. Showtime has been quite satisfactory for me, but I'd like to install the Plex app to take full advantage of PMS (not just DLNA) and be able to use the sleek looking Plex UI.
1. Does the Plex app require PSN sign-in to work?
2. Is there a PKG file installer for the Plex app available to download for offline installation on a PS3 sporting CFW?
3. What firmware version does the app require?
