Sundtek DVB devices have been on the market for over 10 years and there are many linux users out there.
The sundtek driver does not create any device nodes in /sys but the nodes are created in /dev/dvb/adapter and are compatible with the linuxdvb api.
I think it should take Plex 15-30 minutes to add support for all the available devices out there, just by updating the detection routine a little bit.
