Please add this functionality. +1
a MIgration tool for sure would be great especially with the addition of Plex Cloud. if you truly want to migrate to that you can upload the data exactly as is and it would be nice to copy the server config as well. some re-mapping may be in order, or the migration tool should manage that. Moving between PMS servers should be managed from within the application.
I am trying to migrate a small server library and the data is still about 7GB of files over 30,000 objects. having this as a managed process would be MUCH better!
+1 It would be nice to have a managed process. Now i’m trying to move a windows installation to my WD PR4100, unsuccesfully…
Finally I did it!

Links corrected.
It was not possible to automatically update all links after the forums moved from ip.board to the vanilla platform

I would like to pick up a WD passport pro, but i do not want to sync by hand to use a media server locally in my RV on the road. Definitely getting my +1 for this feature.

I would +100 this…
I almost think it might be easier to put the Plex MetaData in a more robust sql and shared folder. I have over 60TB of data, and my metadata and sqlite instances lock up / time out a lot
it would be awesome.
some parts of the library snch-ed automatically to the plex cloud, or some to a remote (limited bandwith or cpu server)
for example i have a PMS on a rPi 2 on a weekend house, with a chromecast, and i’d just send items there, pre encoded.
plex is most of the way there, it just needs a native file sync feature as well.
well, it kinda has that already as well.
if my pi would be an android device, i could sync(send) files there remotely, encoded
and an android player can already act as a server.
so imho plex is most of the way already there, just needs a little more tweaking
it would be a next logical extension of the server-client model
I support it, it would be really cool to see 2 or more plex servers acting as one with one master server.
+1 please please
I would also like to see a metadata sync option and/or the ability to apply the metadata from my main server to my portable server that has identical files.
+1, please!
I think many would like this feature.
+1. would be awesome
+1 for me too.
