Sync media from one (non-Plex) computer to another with Plex Server

Hello. I’m new to Plex and am trying to resolve an issue. I have the Plex server on one dedicated streaming PC. The Plex libraries include Movies, TV and Music. 99% of the time, when adding new Movies or TV content, I’m doing it from that dedicated Plex PC. However, the opposite is true with music content; 99% of the time, I’m adding music to a different PC (my primary PC). Up to now, I’ve kept a folder on the primary (non-Plex) PC and periodically copied that over to the Plex library. Tedious. I was hoping to set something up so that if I add content to the primary (non-Plex) PC, it will automatically sync up with the corresponding library on the dedicated Plex PC. I don’t need to (or really want to) stream from the non-Plex server PC - I just play that audio content locally.

It looks like I can do the opposite in the Plex settings, but that’s of no help. I did see this: Two equal but sync'd (mirrored?) Plex Servers which is essentially what I want I think. That thread mentions this feature: [Feature Request] Server to Server Sync but that looks like a dead end. I also see reference to Plex Cloud (or cloud sync?), but looks like that too has been killed off.

I’d really like to do this without adding another 3rd party app if that’s possible.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Plex doesn’t have such a feature.
If your non-Plex computer is always on you could simply make the music folder available in your network and allow the Plex computer to access them.
Alternatively you could look into rsync to do a scheduled/automatic sync of those files to the Plex computer.

I use a Windows app called FreeFileSync to sync my main music, photo and ebook collections to two external USB drives.
One you have a Sync set up the way you like you can save it to run whenever it sees a change in the Music folders.
It works great and is free. You can also donate to the developer to get a few extra options. I think you’ll find it’s well worth donating a few bucks.

appreciate the tips, thanks.
