I found one other topic that discuss this in very unclear terms so I am going to post this in an effort to clarify and hopefully have everyone like this topic if they think this is a worthwhile feature request.
I would like to be able to create a playlist and then sync that playlist locally for offline playback. I have worked around this by moving duplicate files to the same folder and syncing the folder but this is a lot of work and duplicates storage space. Subsonic/madsonic had this critical capability and I think the ability to sync a playlist locally to conserve mobile bandwidth is critical. Pled should also play from the offline synced playlist first before streaming a new copy of the same file when connected to the server to conserve resources. Can we see this critical feature implemented? Thank you.
i'm kinda surprised this isnt a feature already. especially since tv series will allow you to sync x number of a show in that folder. I really would like a dynamic playlist which i can add and remove from that will sync to a device for offline playback

Mobile bandwidth doesn't tend to be much of an issue anymore, but this would be especially useful on all those hours spent at 30,000 ft.
I had been using cloud music services for the past 3 years, but there are 100 reasons that becomes less and less appealing so I'm back to a local music library again. I wonder if Plex collects any metrics to see how many people are using Plex for music as opposed to solely for video.

Sorry for the necro, bump. I was about to make a playlist of songs to sync to my phone that can’t hold my entire library. I was greatly saddened to not see this feature. :((
