First of all, I like to say that PLEX devs and staff does an AMAZING job. Over the years, since I got PLEX Pass lifetime, several features has been implemented. I won’t say that we have the “ultimate” streaming service (yet) since I still see a lot of potential with PLEX. But in the end, I actually think PLEX can be something like that, whatever that would be. And that’s thanks to the amazing devs how does such a great job. It includes things like listening to the users. I have a slight memory of being pessimistic or having a negative or ignorant attitude. But probably I have just not been patient enough. Like 99 % of my requests have been fullfilled. It includes Facebook login option, improved GUI and GPU transcoding among a few things over the years… it felt almost like when I asked for something you listened to me personally and placed it on the roadmap. And whatever if I’ve not been alone about those requests, I have to say it’s very appreciated. So I just like to say keep up the good work and never stop. And also thanks to @OttoKerner among others… I got so much very friendly, informative and technological help from you.
OK, that was somewhat off-topic, and I am sorry about that. But it just has to be said and the general attitude from staff/mods/devs about feature requests is also a valid point, I think.
OK, when comes to the actual feature request this time I will keep it short. Less is more… My idea is to have a cloud sync feature similar to this one.
But I think it would be nice to have the playlists backed up on PLEX servers (your servers) so it won’t be lost if MY (or others users) server and/or devices go down. If my house burn down, my playlists will be kept and I don’t have to worry about forgetting music I really like. I think this also could be a PLEX pass feature. It might be more likely to pay for it, if you are sure you won’t loose your playlists. It can be a great feature for those of us who got huge MP3 or FLAC collections for instance. Then playlists workout similar to a browsers bookmarks, if you get what I mean… but, to be honest I think it’s an good idea also for the avarage user. It can’t be bad at least.
