This has been driving me crazy for weeks. I finally opened up my database in an SQL editor and manually deleted all the “devices” from the database then re-imported it. Seems to be working so far

So how do you do this exactly? Is there an easy way to achieve this? It’s a really frustrating issue, and annoying that this isn’t being fixed, I pay fur the plex pass, but this just doesn’t function properly.
Ok I have to say “what the hell” why hasn’t Plex responded to this thread? Pretty ridiculous to leave customers hanging without a response to this issue. Us having to modify SQL dbs, delete all synced content, reinstall, etc etc is pretty absurd.
Just chiming in that I am also having this problem with my HD8 (and possibly other tablets, just haven’t checked yet).
Edit: Update this appears to be an issue with SD card storage. If I use the internal storage it works fine.
I spent hours syncing music to my new Galaxy S8 yesterday. Things seemed to be OK except for two tracks that seemed to be stuck and never downloaded. I have no idea why. Later last night all of the synced music was gone in the Plex android app. The space was still being used up on the phone, so the music was still all there and the artist info and basic album info was there but the app said the directory was empty. WTF? I rebooted my phone and for a few minutes the music was there, but then it disappeared again. There is some kind of big bug in the android app and it is pretty much worthless to me at this point.
I do not have an SD card installed so this is all not working on Internal Storage on the phone.
Update: I installed an SD card and tried it there too. The issue exists both with or without an SD card and when syncing to internal or external storage.
Samsung Galaxy S8 phone
Android Plex version 5.8.0.475 (ca8c9aab)
Plex server version 1.5.5.3634
QNAP NAS version 4.3.3.0154
Started running into the same issue on my Fire HD 7 about 2-3 weeks ago. I’ve tried the workarounds mentioned in this thread (short of directly editing the database) to no avail. I’ve also tested using internal and external storage and experience the same behavior in both cases–so I don’t think we need to be overly concerned about our cheap SDs as of yet (besides, Netflix downloads content to the SD card just fine).
Prior to getting stuck waiting to download, I was seeing a message that the “media was unable to be analyzed” discussed here: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/253327/plex-sync-this-media-was-unable-to-be-analysed-log-included/p2. Likely unrelated (perhaps that was resolved and now this is a new issue), but thought its as worth noting.
I’m still having this issue of syncing not working stuck on “pending/waiting to download” Is this problem being actively worked on?
Still broken on all 3 of my android devices (I don’t own any IOS). Emby is quickly becoming a better option for Android.
After reseting Android app for a couple of times, I have given up on Plex on Android. Synchronization doesn’t work and, from what I see, nobody really cares.
Lots of people care, its only Plex that has its head in the sand and still refuses to recognize that it it is a ever increasing problem.
+1
Samsung Note 4
The items sync and i can play them just fine.
However, sync Status shows most everything as “waiting to download” .
+1, sync works on one Android device, not on another, “waiting to be downloaded”
Same here, Lenovo Tab 3 7, sync worked for three movies then stopped working stuck on “waiting to download”. Sony Xperia Z3+ phone just synced without issue.
Same here - already posted at
This is driving me crazy; it doesn’t friggin’ sync on Win-10 App, just says Waiting, forever.
I have the same issue here on Android also.
I have the same issue, win 10 server, android galaxy s6.
Only work around is to delete plex, restart phone and try again.
Any news from plex staff on this?
Is this forum REALLY the only mechanism that we can use to submit defects?
Plex Pass is a paid for service, right?
(insert meme of your choice here)
Win 10 and kindle fire hd8 2016 not working. Only reason I bought plex pass and it’s not working
Same with movies - Lenovo Tablet - Win 10 plex server. Stuck at downloading seems to download, but never finishes just starts again.
