Android Plex App 8.1.0

You can only view downloaded/synced content in list mode. Grid poster style viewing is no longer available. Anyone else experiencing this?

Anyone know if there is a setting somewhere to get the poster views back? You need a magnifying glass to see the list on a phone. Hopefully this wasn’t intentional, because it is awful on a phone.

I just noticed this as well with the last update. Very annoying.

Half the idea of Plex is how nicely it makes your library look. With this update you need a magnifying glass to see your synced content.

I also noticed this a few days ago, as it was the 1st time I had used the mobile app since lockdown here in the UK, and so not used it in a few months.

I have to say, it definitely doesn’t look nice!

EDIT: Just noticed that the Recommended tab still displays in Grid view, but I’m certainly never gonna use the Recommended tab when I know exactly what I have on my device!

Yep. Exactly. I’m using a Note 10+ which gives me as large a phone screen as it comes, and it is still hard to see what you are looking at. But as usual…you point out and issue and four updates later it is still hanging around.

I would suggest keep bumping this every other day or so, and if you still get no response after a good few days, find a Plex bod and tag him in this post, asking if you could bring this to his attention.

Also having this issue as well. It’s kind of a deal breaker for me, since I like to “shuffle all” my music library, and now the button is no longer there.

EDIT:

I found this thread which looks like a similar problem: Grid view gone in Podcasts section. The plex employee in the thread seems to imply it wasn’t an intentional change.

@ManuelPG - Just to let you know that this problem also appears to happen in the Synced content section of the Android app. Perhaps the 2 problems are linked?

Lmao. Yeah. As usual update messes something up and six later no fix. This will never be fixed.

Fixed in the latest beta. Holy hell, thank you. I can see the list again. Getting old sucks.

Can confirm that this is fixed in general release 8.2.0, although the release notes only mention the incorrect display of My Podcasts…
